It’s time to check back with those summer interns at Sparkpr in San Francisco, Calif.! In her first individual post, Megan tells us how she’s taking on more responsibilities and adjusting to life at a PR agency.

I’m in week 4 of my internship with Sparkpr, and time has really flown by!
As Katy and I continue to acclimate and learn the ropes, we have been added to additional accounts. This is a very welcome development, as the more accounts we work on, the more experience we garner — and the more challenges we are exposed to. Variety is the spice of life.

Working on new accounts, and with new clients, also means day-to-day exposure to some truly fantastic people. Spark is fully of highly energetic, enthusiastic and intelligent individuals. Not surprisingly, our clients seem to share these qualities. And, as most of us know, good people means good morals, and a healthy workforce dynamic. I’ve already targeted people I consider mentors, and look forward to learning more about their background, their experiences, and the hurdles they have surpassed. Additionally, having a really stellar manager doesn’t hurt!
Today, I sat in on a conference call with one of my new clients, and I found myself entranced (don’t judge the nerdiness). Our discussion was fast-paced, and stimulating. There was much back-and-forth over a particular proposal, and our conversation ran the gamut from upcoming events to competitors to ornery members of the media. I left the call thinking everyone was well-prepared and invested in our clients’ success.
And that, of course, is what we are here for.
