All I can say is, “Finally!” For the last two years I have been searching my butt off for an internship opportunity during the summer. Maybe I was looking in the wrong places and narrowing my search by only looking at internships in NYC, but let’s be honest: I was just trying to get myself where I want to be when I have a real job. This summer is different, however, because I finally landed an internship that I can be excited about.
I go to school in Western Massachusetts, so I figured it wouldn’t hurt to find something that was not only close to school, but close to home, too. On top of it all, I started my search early, so now I don’t have to worry for the rest of the semester about my summer plans.
This summer, I will be writing as a journalist and having a blast with the Holyoke Blue Sox.
This summer, I will be writing as a journalist and having a blast with the Holyoke Blue Sox. What could be better than doing what I love — writing — and working with cute baseball players all summer long!
For me, this internship worked out for two reasons. The first is that I won’t have to live in NYC on a college student’s income ($0). As much as I love NYC and as much as I can’t wait to live there, I know that right now as a college student, it isn’t a good idea. The second reason is that I’ll have the chance to write until my hand goes numb. I was looking for the perfect opportunity that would allow me to use my writing skills, and I landed it!
This summer is looking to be one of the best in a long time. Not only is it my last summer before I go into the real world, but I have the chance to work with a ton of great people. This internship was just the opportunity I was looking for!
