Style in the City Fashion Magazine is an upscale, fashion and lifestyle publication that keeps readers attuned to the most noteworthy developments of African-American in the areas of culture, style, entertainment, art, food, travel, life tips and techniques, health and beauty, fitness and couture as we know it. The magazine will print an initial issue for distribution in the Detroit Metropolitan Area which will be directed at the Urban and non-Urban consumers at all levels of business, subsequently expanding to markets across the United States.

Opportunity to work on a Nationally Published Magazine.Style in the City Fashion Magazine is looking for 2 Fashion Interns witha ‘passion for fashion!’ Must be an outgoing, enthusiastic,self-motivated, detail-oriented, outside-the-box thinker, with strong
organizational and interpersonal skills.

Also looking for 2 Marking Interns, 2 Account Executives and 2 Graphic Designers with an outgoing, professional demeanor. Ability to communicate by phone and email. Self Starter.

120 hours per 10 week term. That can be divided and decided with intern based on their current schedule as well as when needed for employer projects' completion, etc.

Responsibilities

Duties will include (but not limited to) Assisting with:

Interns will assist CTM communications staff with production of images, logos, advertisements, flyers, web design, manuals, posters, maps and other materials. Duties will include the following:

Graphic Designer
Develop one or more major graphic design projects
Finalize existing files for executive and marketing purposes
Create new electronic files
Assist staff with day-to-day office operations
Manage photo archive
Manage Websites and blogs

Fashion Market Research Analyst
Collection of fashion info/facts, trends and photos
Castings and Photo shoots
Managing Social Media (Twitter/Facebook/Blog)
Organizing/Maintaining contacts and designers’ look
books/photos/info/submissions
Errands/drop offs /pick ups for editorial
Idea development
Administrative tasks
Coordination of articles

Marketing
Responsible for creating new and exciting ideas and will assist in capturing new subscriptions are both sample and media based. Interested in finding qualified interns who have an interest in all three areas and who will be willing to get involved in a variety of practices, including PR, advertising, promotion and creative management. Public Relations Assistant's: Help develop and manage media lists, solicit interviews and story placement, create story angles, fax and email press releases to editors.

Account Executive
You will primarily be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with new and existing clients, and developing new marketing opportunities for revenue growth for all online and print media.Style in the City Fashion Magazine have combined sales strategy of sampling, direct mail, and organization will result in the following first year sales goals.

Requirements

Graphic Designer
Internship is best suited for students or recent graduates who have completed coursework and/or gained experience in graphic design, illustration, design and visual communication, advertising or related fields.


Fashion Market Research Analyst
Fashion background, education and/or experience
Proficiency in utilizing computers and the Internet
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Familiarity with Adobe Photoshop A PLUS

Marketing
Practical experience in the marketing field to develop knowledge and experience in the practical application of theory to actual problems in a nonclassroom situation. Selected interns will work closely with the New Business, Research & Innovative Technology teams to develop new business presentations and support account management. Interns will also have the chance to interact with senior management, develop their own initiatives and learn strategic planning techniques through the Professional Development Program. Outgoing, professional demeanor. Ability to communicate by phone and email. Self Starter.

Account Executive
We are looking to recruit an Account Executive who is looking to gain some valuable work experience in a growing media company. You will be working to personal and team targets to increase revenue for the existing title selling classified advertising opportunities in the magazine and new business areas online. .
