Jill Pillot is a creator and designer with a unique line of clothes for women and children called Ricochet. Keeping the environment in mind, she uses sustainable and recycled material to create a unique fresh vintage look with a European flair.

Come be a part of Ricochet for a wonderful opportunity to explore your fashion and sewing skills. Ricochet is looking for Interns/Assistants for 2-3 month periods, typically a commitment of 60h, working a minimum of 4h-8h per week. All shifts available. This internship is offered year-round.

You would be working at the San Mateo boutique/workshop . Please note, Ricochet is a small company opened in 1996 as a children’s consignment store and has evolved into a new line of one-of-a kind wearable art . We need, more than ever, some eager helping hands. We have some really big and exciting opportunities coming up for growth.

Ricochet proposes internships for all levels : beginner, intermediate and ad-vanced skills. Having sewing experience is a plus, but not mandatory. It is an enriching opportunity for any students or anyone who just dreams about sewing, learning and having fun making beautiful clothes.

Although this is a non-paid opportunity, you will definitely gain useful knowledge that will help you grow while working with us. Commission can be made as soon as you help generate revenue (through retail sales, participation in street fairs and fashion shows). This is a team community working environment and as we grow you will benefit too. Other compensation includes: college and high school credit (to be set up once approved through your school), a letter of recommendation, certificate of completion of internship as well as a gift certificate to our store.

This internship will be focussed on sewing with all different types of recycled, remnants,
fabrics, Speed, different effects, manage different stitches in order to create special
effects, the last part of this internship we will focus on speed.
Work with other students, and have one on one attention
You will receive on on one attention, work with other students, and independently.

Intermediate internship
Focus on more structured garments
Zippers, buttons properly sewn
Last 20 hours focus on timing and speed
Become independent

Advanced internship
Cutting garments
Creating patterns

New : learn about pattern making


Internship requirements
You must have a passion for learning
Candidates must be reliable, must have a good attitude and a friendly disposition(Hard working, organized, self-motivated,detail-oriented).
