Style University Magazine is an organization of Dirty Diana Magazine, LLC which is a collegiate fashion magazine and community based company. Inspired in Autumn of 2014 by Alfred J Horton III (president) and Jasmyne S. Hicks (vice president). Later registered in the State of Maryland on June 25, 2015 by Alfred J Horton III (owner). Our publication comes in both digital as well as print, we highlight trends, fashion based events, recognition of brands/individuals as well as shopping for a variety of stylish items. The face of our brand is Style University Magazine which was established May 1st, 2016, also known as "Style U".
Style U is primarily based in the Maryland, DC, and Virginia area. We are constantly active in the community and on college campuses across the region. Offering year round internships with little to no experience needed students/non-students can apply to be a photographer, videographer, media correspondent, makeup artist, wardrobe stylist, creative director, marketing strategist, graphic artists, hair stylist, public relations manager, fashion blogger, and web designer. We provide an opportunity for students/non-students to get hands on experience in careers both behind the scenes and in front of the camera as independent contractors in our company. We are bridging the gap between the college world of fashion and the mainstream fashion industry. Our goal is to develop a global platform for young adults to gain exposure while in pursuit of their dreams.
In addition, Style University Magazine specializes in providing; press coverage for fashion based events, opportunity/exposure in various fashion fields and brand marketing for individuals as well as businesses. Our brand has over 1,000,000 impressions online, reaching over 23,000 consumers, 3,000 subscribers, across 120 countries with direct contact to 20 colleges, 31 modeling agencies/fashion organizations and rapidly growing. Style University Magazine (Style U) overall is the fashion voice for the collegiate populace online. Although based in mid-Atlantic (D.C., Maryland, & Virginia) Style U’s vision is global and its personnel is ambitious, eager to explore new concepts, ready to re-define boundaries, fearless in their quest to dream BIG and make their dreams reality.
ResponsibilitiesOpen Positions: Some positions do not require you to be in our local area and are identified by **
Wardrobe Stylist: Searches, suggests and coordinates outfits for models, clients or our partners based on their unique images as well as their physical features.
**Public Relations (PR): Helps build the desired image of Dirty Diana Magazine to reach our target audience and maintain overall influence of the magazine through a variety of creative promotions as well as building mutually beneficial partnerships.
Make-Up Artist (MUA):Applies make up and creates a look for to ensure the proper image for photo shoots, interviews, fashion shows as well as any other client requested assignments. As well as suggesting possible looks for DDMag projects.
Hair Stylist: Styles hair to ensure proper image for photo shoots, interviews, fashion shows as well as any other client requested assignments. Also suggesting hairstyles for DDMag projects.
Coordinators: Seeks, creates and reserves places or positions for DDMag to undertake at opportunistic events in accordance with Dirty Diana Magazine’s image and vision. Assist with district coordinator tasks as well as any other company/client requested assignments.
**Fashion Blogger: Gathers, collects, and prepares information to be posted/published on Dirty Diana Magazine media outlets, while ensuring the image of DDMag is maintained. As well as any other client requested assignments.
**Graphic Designer: Develops and implements new creative programs, guidelines and designs concepts that meet the DDMag objectives to strategically advance our brand.
Photographer/Videography: Captures photos and records footage on behalf of Dirty Diana Magazine at fashion shows, photo shoots, fashion based events as well as any other client requested assignments.
**Journalist: Creates, develops and writes insightful articles/summaries of events DDMag has attended. Conducts interviews to inquire about the opinions of others and seeks information. As well as any other client requested assignments.
Creative Director: Applies and distributes concepts in collaboration with individuals, organizations, companies and clients within the fashion industry as well as other professions.
**Marketing Strategist: Develops marketing programs with coordinated Dirty Diana Magazine elements to become global such as advertising, special events, public and media relations, videos and social media. Including written articles and materials as well as any other company/client requested assignments.
