From New York’s fashion houses, Project Runway alum, Amanda Perna brings The House of Perna design studios to South Florida. THoP is a women's luxury clothing line. Here, we believe that fashion is the highest form of self expression, and our mission is to help the women of the world put their most fashionable foot forward. We design, develop, and create garments for women who are trend conscious but don’t want to be “over-styled”. We know style is constantly evolving, and want to be sure we provide our customer with what she needs on her fashion journey.

The House of Perna is looking for Fashion interns who are interested in learning all aspects of the fashion business. This includes: all areas of fabric sourcing, merchandising, fashion photography, social media, as well marketing and PR support. Applicants will be working directly with members of our sales team, our local and national Public Relations firms, photo studio partners, stylists, merchandise directors, and our Creative Director on a daily/weekly basis.

A REAL DESIRE TO BE IN THE BUSINESS AND A TRUE LOVE OF FASHION IS A MUST!

Fashion Internship applicants should be Fashion Students/Graduates or are knowledgeable and passionate about fashion, business, and marketing.

ALL APPLICANTS SHOULD BE LIVING IN THE PALM BEACH, BROWARD, OR DADE AREA.

This is an unpaid internship but available for school credit and to recent graduates.

What you will gain:
-Experience working directly with a high-level Creative Director
-Projects for your portfolio including hi-rez photography of events, styling shoots, and line sheets
-Knowledge of the inner-workings of a design house, and the many moving pieces to the daily operation
-An understanding of the minutia and creativity involved in meeting deadlines, responding to client requests, and pushing future seasons to market
-Friends and a fun environment! We have at least one team lunch per week that THoP will provide to you: we find it is a great way to build relationships while having fun with our co-workers

Responsibilities

-Showroom merchandising and organizing
-Seasonal inventory maintenance
-Collaborate with internal departments on projects and assignments
-Daily errands
-Assisting at photo shoots, open houses, and runway shows

Requirements

All candidates must meet ALL criteria:

- Understands fashion business principles and how to implement goals
- Possesses skills at assessing issues, defining solutions, and implementing strategies
- Performs well in a fast paced environment that values leadership, efficiency, dependability, and organization
-Computer savvy -- must have strong knowledge of EXCEL, WORD, PHOTOSHOP and OUTLOOK
-Must be able to devote at least 10 hours a week to internship
-Must attend all showroom open houses (first Friday and third Thursday of each month)
