These internships are unpaid positions offering excellent experience for applicants interested in Fashion, Music, Art, Beauty and Entertainment writing or editorial careers.
As managing editors, interns will be responsible for managing a team of 7-10 writers and editors. Specific responsibilities include setting up and distributing writing/editing schedules on a weekly basis, searching news alerts and journals for material to be covered by the team, and distributing writing assignments.
In addition, the managing editor will make post-publication edits to the articles, respond to writers' and editors' questions, and be available for general troubleshooting. This position will be critical for ensuring timely publication of news, a smooth collaboration within the team, and the overall appearance of the website.
Hours of work are flexible, and interns can work from home or school. Managing editors should be available 2-4 hours each day for sending out assignments and be able to check email periodically throughout the day. In total, managing editors will be expected to work about 20 hours per week.
