DescriptionFor over three decades, Roxanne Assoulin has been at the forefront of fashion jewelry in the U.S. working with the top designers, brands, and retailers in an ever-changing industry. Assoulin is without question one of the most important jewelry designers the fashion world has come to rely upon, with the unique ability to translate brand identity into exceptional quality merchandise for designers and retailers.
Assoulin began her career in retail in the late 1970’s with a line of hair accessories which she designed and marketed herself and which she ultimately sold through Fiorucci, Norma Kamali, Vera Wang, and Bloomingdales in New York City. Immediately featured in editorials, the pieces were her successful debut into the world of American fashion.
Assoulin married and began a family, and in 1983 turned her talents towards fashion jewelry. Designing her own line for the first time, she was once again featured in the major national and international fashion magazines, and ultimately retailed at Neiman Marcus, Bergdorf Goodman, Barney’s New York, and Colette in Paris. Often featured in major print media, she attracted the attention not only of jewelry buyers, but the major American designers of the day.
Soon, Assoulin began designing unique couture collections under her own name for the runway shows of some of fashion’s most influential names. Assoulin’s one-of-a-kind pieces began to grace the runways of legendary designers such as Marc Jacobs, Oscar de la Renta, and Stephen Sprouse, among others. Designers began to turn to Assoulin for her unique ability to translate their personal creative visions for their collections seamlessly into the medium of jewelry. These high-end unique couture pieces are now highly sought after by collectors of jewelry.
In 1998, Assoulin began a secondary line, by the name of Lee Angel, which has found great success with retailers seeking a younger clientele—color, quality, and affordability are key elements in her recognizable designs, and Assoulin continues to make a name for herself by creating and predicting trends in design. Assoulin was soon approached by her old fashion clients to collaborate with designers and retailers, and Lee Angel has created a market for itself as a successful designer of “private label” fashion jewelry for important brands such as J. Crew, Banana Republic, Anthropologie, Madewell, Ann Taylor Loft, Club Monaco, and Abercrombie & Fitch.
Assoulin’s success lies in her unique ability to transpose the vision designers and retailers have for their brands into the media of jewelry – and her passion lies in her love of creating beautiful pieces of extremely high quality valued by retailers and consumers for their fresh originality and wearability. Well-known throughout fashion industry, Assoulin’s name is one of the industry’s better-kept secrets.

• Help to merchandise collections
• Prep and Allocate samples for market appointment and buyers
• Photograph samples
• Tag samples, and create style numbers
• Help to maintain archive of samples
*This is an unpaid internship, but we offer school credit.
