Description

Marc Jacobs International is a premier luxury fashion company based in New York City. With over 200 free standing stores across the globe, Marc Jacobs International now includes Women’s and Men’s Ready to Wear and accessories under both the Marc Jacobs Collection and Marc by Marc Jacobs labels, a children’s line called Little Marc Jacobs, multiple award winning fragrances, the bookstore Bookmarc and most recently Marc Jacobs Beauty, which was launched in August of 2013. Spring 2014 marked Jacobs’ final collection for Louis Vuitton, as he directs his focus solely on his namesake label.

Responsibilities

Interns will receive hands on experience with all the sewers/cutters/patternmakers - daily tasks include but not limited to:

Tracing patterns, dying trim packages to be sent out, organizing the thread library and maintaining the thread chart for all sampling.

Working with the Fabric/Trim Buyer with daily tasks such as ordering raw materials, confirming orders, tracking shipments, organizing the trim and fabric area.

Cleaning garments to be ready to ship, light specking, etc.

Assisting the sample room during busy show season with pattern tracing, dying zippers/snaps/buttons, making sure all sewers have proper trims to complete samples and organizing trim packages to be sent to mid-town.

Requirements

* Must be familiar with sewing, and pattern making
* Knowledge of Excel and Adobe Photoshop a plus
* Strong attention to detail
* Organized
* Hard working

Preferred - Adobe Photoshop, Excel, Microsoft Office
