DescriptionZana Bayne is a New York based artisanal leather accessories designer focusing in luxury bodywear and handbags. This 12-week internship is designed to progressively teach the ins and outs of working with leather. As an intern, you will learn about many types of leathers as well as the processes, tools, and techniques that we use to manipulate leather. You will also have a chance to observe the work that is done by our factories.
ResponsibilitiesDay-to-day tasks include production assistance working with hand-crafted leather goods, factory runs, miscellaneous errands, studio mainenance, and assisting in seasonal collection production.
RequirementsTo be considered for this internship, you must have a background or intermediate training in garment construction. Self-taught, apprenticeships, trade school education, associate and bachelor degrees are all acceptable forms of training. Ideal applicants are students who are interested in school credit internships, students who are interested in furthering their construction skills in leather, and recent graduates who are interested in working in the fashion production industry.
