Description

The Arab Film Festival (AFF) is the largest independent annual showcase of Arab films and filmmakers in the country. The festival has an international standing and is considered one of the most important Arab film festivals outside the Arab world. AFF strives to present the best contemporary films that provide insight into the beauty, complexity and diversity intrinsic to the Arab world alongside realistic perspectives on Arab people, culture, art, history and politics. It offers the American public access to a multifaceted sphere of creativity seen through Arab eyes.

The Programming Intern will assist in the organization of the 18th Annual Arab Film Festival. The prospective candidate will assist the Executive Director and Program Director in various facets of planning and organizing this annual event including overseeing the Festival for the Schools program.

Responsibilities

Coordinating the Festival at the Schools program, which brings Arab films into Bay Area classrooms.
Monitor programming with our major partners (including KQED, TV5Monde, SF Film Society).

15-20 hours/week (during the summer), 10 hours (during the fall/winter/spring), college credit available

Requirements

Attention to detail, excellent organization and writing skills and be able to meet deadlines. We offer a flexible schedule, possibilities to work remotely and lots of perks. Will have the opportunity to work and learn from an experienced team and be part of a growing national organization.
