DescriptionVisit Films, a respected international film sales agent in business for nearly ten years, is offering a new Acquisitions internship this Fall. This incredible opportunity will expose applicants to the ‘business side’ of the independent film industry, specifically in terms of the process of acquiring films for commercial and festival purposes.
Daily tasks will include keeping up with industry trends, logging and covering scripts and film screeners, researching new projects and updating our database.
The ideal candidate will be available approximately 3 days a week, beginning in November and continuing through March at our office in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. This is an unpaid internship, but we offer a $30 monthly travel stipend and academic credit.
This unique role will expose the right candidate to all facets of the independent film business: acquisitions, sales, and distribution. Our open office allows all departments to work together, and our interns are an integral part of our team whose contributions we value.
RequirementsPassion for international independent film is a must. Mac OS X as well as Microsoft Office literacy is necessary.
Exemplary writing skills, a professional demeanor, and strong organizational skills are a must.
Above all, we are looking for a candidate who is a creative thinker, passionate about cinema, and eager to learn the intricacies of film acquisitions and marketing.
