The Scene Network is a fashion, lifestyle, and entertainment channel on Comcast channel 392 which reaches 2.4 million viewers in Chicago. The Scene Network is looking for a producer to produce an original Scene Network show with a story line that would revolve around the fashion, entertainment and modeling industry (example: Gossip Girl/Entourage) . The business decisions associated with the show will be managed by the producer. You might choose scripts, find funding, hire staff and supervise production crews. You may also negotiate salaries and uphold union contracts. You will also be involved with the show's development and provide approval on creative decisions. Rehearsal times, locations and daily activities are will often be coordinated by you.

Additional job duties may include observing rehearsals, filming and post-production activities to ensure quality. After the show is finished, you may help execute a marketing plan to help publicize the show.


Have experience producing shows or should have had worked on a similar project like this before. This can be your first project, but you must be passionate about this position because it will be a full time job! Must have and needs good business skills and creativity. A bachelor's or master's degree in theater management, film studies, cinematography, communications or broadcast journalism. You will also need writing skills to prepare proposals in hopes of acquiring the rights to a script.
