American National is seeking a Career Development Trainee in the Actuarial Services Division to perform statistical analysis.



Basic Functions:

•Working on actuarial related projects such as: creating new reports for distribution, researching competitors, assisting in data scrubbing and preparation, and building and validating financial models.

•Assist others in Actuarial Services as needed

•Complete miscellaneous projects as assigned

Requirements

Qualifications:

•Graduate level, Mathematics, Statistics, Business, Finance, Computer Information Systems, and Computer Science student.

•GPA of 3.0 or above

•Experience with R, SAS, or SPSS preferred.

•Experience with statistical modeling including linear regression, logistic regression, decision trees, random forests, and/or neural networks preferred.

•Experience with Python, SQL or VB preferred

•Having passed one Actuarial exam preferred

•Good communication and keyboarding skills

•Detail oriented with good multi-tasking skills

•An average of 15-25 hours per week during the semester; up to 37.5 hours per week during the holiday season and summer. A summer only internship will be considered for exceptional candidates.



Career Developmental Trainee programs are designed as year round initiatives that focus on the retention of the employee after graduation. The position is flexible to work around students' scheduling during the semester and offer full-time hours during all breaks.
