Always be on the alert for potentially fraudulent job postings online - never send money to a potential employer.
DescriptionThis is a unique hands-on opportunity to both contribute and learn about Search Funds and Private Equity investments in general. Our company is a traditional Search Fund raised and managed by a Harvard Business School MBA graduate and backed by several renown Search Fund investors around the country. The fund was created with the sole purpose of identifying a suitable US private business between $5-50M in revenues and structuring its acquisition.
To achieve this, it is necessary to efficiently manage a multi-stage high volume deal funnel in the most efficient way possible. For more information about search funds, read the Search Fund Primer here: http://www.gsb.stanford.edu/ces/resources/search_funds.html
If interested, please send a SHORT paragraph explaining your fit with each listed requirement below and including your resume, your start date and detailed time availability for this internship.
RequirementsWe look for someone with the skills and motivation to source good quality deals that match the fund investment criteria as shown on our website. Additionally, exposure to further financial analysis of the sourced deals and actual deal negotiations can be expected.
In particular we look for:
1- Someone with the skills and motivation to source leads in pre-defined industry niches, and potentially be involved in proposing new suitable industry niches to focus on. 80% of the work will be here in the beginning.
2- Someone who will learn to use financial LBO models to value the sourced companies on the previous point. Depending on your financial acumen, you will have the opportunity to pitch these opportunities.
3- Someone with the confidence and ability to represent the company when talking to stakeholders. Involvement in advanced deal negotiations is possible after showing good overall performance results with previous points.
4- Full time commitment for at least 3 months is a must for the summer period. For the rest of the year, full time will be given priority and part time commitment of at least 2-3 full days per week may be considered.
5- This is an UNPAID internship, we operate out of an unassuming office in Kenmore Square area and are a very small team. You are NOT applying because you expect to work in a fancy corporate environment or to put a fancy name on your resume. You ARE interested because you want to have a hands-on Search Fund/Private Equity investment learning experience that will help you in your planned career path.
