Description

NOTE THAT WHILE THIS POSITION IS VIRTUAL, WE ARE LOOKING FOR CANDIDATES THAT ARE BASED IN NEW YORK CITY.

A small but growing investment firm that has taken on new capital and is in the start-up phase for a new fund is seeking 5 Interns. Each intern would work remotely, but there is a great degree of guidance including daily calls and weekly ‘Performance and Assessment Reporting’ (on PAR). There is a paid component to this internship based on hours worked, performance, and overall level of commitment. This will be a highly structured position with a clear career path only for individuals who are successful in their role(s). We want to train the intern(s) and promote through the following career trajectory:

Intern: Start out on our marketing campaigns dealing with prospective retail investors. Assist in our guided Social Media Campaign called ‘Quick Step’.

Pending success in the above, become licensed and move on to Client Liaison role working with smaller institutional clients.

Pending success in the above role, move onto Internal Sales Assistant position. Working with larger institutional clients and supporting the Regional Vice President’s efforts in closing a minimum of $100MM worth of institutional investment deals per year.

Pending success in the above, become a Sales Associate continuing to report directly to Regional Vice President. Limited travel requirement working within a defined territory. Responsible for personally closing $10MM worth of institutional investment deals per year.

Pending success in the above, become a Sales Director reporting directly to Regional Vice President. Fairly intense travel requirement working within a larger but still defined territory. Responsible for personally closing $30MM worth of institutional investment deals per year.

Responsibilities

This is an intense internship program with a small entrepreneurial firm. This is an opportunity to get in on the ground floor and grow quickly unlike internships at other large bulge bracket firms. It will not be easy. There is an intense phone, reporting, and social media aspect to this position. Only apply if you have what we are looking for as we do not want to waste anyone’s time.

Requirements

These are absolute requirements:

You must be able to work a minimum of 15 hours per week during business hours
You must be available for daily assessments either by phone or email
You must have great communication skills, speak clear and articulate English
You must be highly detailed oriented
You must be able to commit to the FULL 6 month internship
You must be able to handle a high degree of OUTGOING calls to set appointments for senior staff
(these are warm calls with people we are already connected to; you are not ‘selling’ anything, nor would you be allowed to)
You must be able to follow the guidelines of our social media campaign
You must be able to work independently and get projects completed on deadline
You must have a computer and be able to use MS excel and word
