DescriptionAlphaPrime Ventures is an early stage venture capital fund, based in New York, that invests in technologies that manage and protect people and assets.
The partners have decided to create a role for an intern, to sit in one of the partners office and learn about the venture capital ecosystem. You will observe company pitches, directly interact with all senior team members and learn how the industry works through firsthand experience. We are looking for intelligent, passionate students who have an inherent curiosity about emerging technology sectors.
To apply, please send a resume, academic transcript, and a 1-page cover note to firstname.lastname@example.org. In your cover note, please also tell us about an early-stage tech startup that you believe is in our investing sector (technologies that manage and protect people or assets) and the reasons why you feel it would be a great investment opportunity.
You need to be a student at an accredited University (no high school students please). You bring with you an admirable work ethic, an inherent curiosity about technology, and you are analytical, diligent, organized, and a self-starter.
This is an unpaid position, focused on exposing intern analysts to the NY venture capital community, understanding the dynamics of venture capital, and learning about this important sector. You must be eligible for course credit for the internship, and commit at least 10 hours a week in the firm's office in midtown New York. Internships are designed to be 3 months in duration. We accept applications all year round.
RequirementsThese are our "must have" requirements:
1. Please send to email@example.com your application, with your academic transcript and a description of one company, that you find interesting, and that is in the early stage technology company in safety and security. Tell us why you feel its an interesting company - we want to understand how you think.
2. Applicants must be a current student and able to commit at least 10 hours a week for 3 months. We are a supplement to your tertiary learning, but we are not a substitute for a full-time job, if that's what you are seeking.
3. As this is an unpaid internship, we don't feel it's fair to ask students to travel. So we will only accept candidates who are ordinarily based in NY.
