DescriptionThe Mayor’s Office Internship Program provides a unique opportunity to gain experience and develop the capacity to solve New York City’s most pressing issues. The mission of the Mayor’s Office Internship Program is to build a diverse pipeline of future public service leaders. This diverse group of men and women collaborate with staff to better the Office of the Mayor and New York City.
Interns are placed in specific departments for the duration of the internship program and will work on a range of projects and tasks including, but not limited to: conducting research, attending meetings, managing incoming inquiries, data analysis, drafting briefings, staffing events, outreach and special projects.
RequirementsInternships are available to:
• High School Students aged 16 or older, working papers must be current and available at the time of application
• Persons currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program at a two-to-four year accredited institution
• Recent graduates, no more than two years before the first day of the internship, from an undergraduate or graduate degree program at a two-to-four year accredited institution
• Veterans of the United States Armed Forces who possess a high school diploma or its equivalent and has served on active duty, for any length of time, in the two years preceding the first day of the internship
