DescriptionThe Lupus Foundation of America, Inc. has an internship opportunity for a health policy or political science student to perform advocacy activities and project management. This is an exciting opportunity to obtain hands-on experience in the areas of advocacy, health policy, and insurance coverage working in the Government Relations Department of a mission-driven health nonprofit.
You can create a flexible internship schedule that complements your school obligations and work directly with two experienced public policy specialists in order to learn the inner workings of advocacy and government relations. You will have the opportunity to:
Support the growth of lupus grassroots advocacy.
Research the health care needs of people with lupus.
Attend conferences, meetings, and health care briefings from various stakeholders.
This is an unpaid internship.
RequirementsA Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or currently enrolled in a degree program. Strong demonstrated interest in public policy/government relations, health care, and access to medical treatments.
