DescriptionThis job posting is for our Internship Program at the District office of State Senator Patricia Bates.
As an intern, you will be able to understand how government works and the power of civic engagement for both local and state issues. Interns will be given a firsthand look into the bill making process and the ways in which government works for its people. Additionally, you will be given valuable life skills including business and professional etiquette.
To apply please contact Kristen Rahmeyer at firstname.lastname@example.org.
ResponsibilitiesAs an official intern to the State Senate, interns will learn the following skills: copy writing, office professionalism, networking, speaking with constituents and constituent organizations, tagging constituent comments and other special projects of value to Senator Bates and the district.
RequirementsRequirements include a willingness to learn, level of professionalism, and the ability to maintain confidentiality. Interns do not need to possess any degree or certifications, but must be interested in gaining professional business skills.
Interns must commit to a minimum of 100 hours for completion of our program. These hours are flexible based upon the schedule of our interns. Internship opportunities are available for our Summer program, as well as throughout the academic year. Preferably we would like interns who are currently involved in academics and wish to further their experience in a real-world business setting. However, internship opportunities are not limited to students. We will gladly accept interested adults who meet the same requirements.
