DescriptionThe Michigan Senate Majority Communications Office is looking for interns for its downtown Lansing office. Internships are available during both semesters of the school year, as well as over the summer term. The Senate Majority Communications Office serves the Michigan Republican Senate Caucus, assisting in such tasks as constituent relations, community outreach, public relations, and arranging and carrying out unique events.
Opportunities in the Communications Office include assisting various offices with constituent relations, outreach planning and implementation, as well as exposure to a wide variety of tasks and events not limited to the office itself. Prospective interns will have the ability to help structure their internship in such a way as to tailor their experience to their specific interests. Unlike traditional Capitol or legislative internships, the Senate Majority Communications Office plays a unique role in assisting Senate offices with distinctive undertakings and assignments.
Interns are accepted on a rolling basis throughout the year, regardless of the season. Internships are not paid, but can be arranged to be done for school credit. Opportunities are available in a diverse area of skill sets and specialties, and the Office encourages students of all majors to apply.
Interested students should contact Caucus Services Specialist Frank Egeler at (517) 373-5566, or firstname.lastname@example.org.
