DescriptionAs the focal point of performing arts activity in South Florida, the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County serves as a showcase for the finest in established and developing performing arts programs. The Center is the foundation on which established resident organizations build their programs and extend their reach. The Center also serves as a laboratory, providing first class accessible facilities for smaller, emerging and developing organizations and for the Center’s own innovative productions and events.
The Center provides our diverse audiences with opportunities to share South Florida's many cultures, offering insights and understanding. As an educational resource, the Center broadens the horizons of our children and enhances our quality of life by offering a full range of cultural learning experiences.
ResponsibilitiesInterns can expect to be introduced to all facets of performing arts marketing including, but not limited to: promotional and outreach events, planning schedules, developing ideas, working with programmers and presenters, and planning communication strategies for promotions. Interns will learn about the challenges and rewards of the creative process, as the underpinning of The Adrienne Arsht Center, while managing the responsibility of supporting the advertising, promotion, e-commerce, creative, administrative and planning sector of the Center. Examples of projects interns will be involved with include, but are not limited to: trafficking ads, social media property maintenance, newsletter copy writing and editing, promotional event support, and developing new promotional partners and relationships.
The Project Manager Intern assists the Traffic Coordinator with:
• Assist in routing artwork to various different parties for approval.
• Assist in requesting quotes from different vendors and creating quote spreadsheets to send to project initiators (usually marketing directors)
• Assist in kiosk inspections & installations.
• Assist in archiving artwork and submitting creative to printers.
• Assist in soliciting mailing lists from Arts Partners
• Assist in proofing copy and art work
• Assist in communications among graphic designers, creative services, marketing staff, and other administrative personnel
• Administrative and other marketing duties as assigned.
RequirementsJunior, senior or graduate student. Internships are offered for all academic semesters. Hours are flexible, with a suggested 16 hour per week minimum.
At this time the Adrienne Arsht Center does not offer paid Internships.
Internships may be eligible for academic credit, check with your school’s academic advisor.
