DescriptionAre you a creative, driven, passionate about the arts, and looking for a bridge between university and the world of professional theatre? Seattle Repertory Theatre is seeking interns for their 2014-2015 season.!
Seattle Rep's renowned Professional Arts Training Program has been preparing theatre artists and administrators for 20 years. Our interns are bright, self-motivated individuals with basic training and experience in theatre who are committed to strengthening their skills and talents. They are effective communicators with an enthusiasm for community building and self-discovery. And they go on to work at the country's top organizations (including right here at the Rep).
As a part of the External Relations team, the Graphic Design Intern assists our in-house designer with a variety of creative projects for print, web, and social media. An ideal candidate will have a knowledge of Adobe CS4 (specifically InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator); great people skills, the ability work on a tight deadline, take direction, and collaborate in a team; and a love for multi-tasking. The supervisor for this internship position is Interactive Media Manager Kiki Abba, who offers this advice for future Graphic Design Interns: "This is a great opportunity for an arts-loving graphic designer to develop skills in a fast-paced, highly-creative environment."

ResponsibilitiesInterns undertake responsibilities as members of the staff, contribute ideas, participate in department and staff meetings, and complete projects under the guidance of their supervisors. Interns also participate in professional workshops and seminars, which provide contact with theatre staff, guest artists, and members of the Seattle arts community. Staff members guide the work of each intern to help prepare them for a career in professional theatre.
RequirementsApplicants should regard the Professional Arts Training Program as a full-time commitment of at least 32 hours per week throughout our full season (September through May). Interns will receive a weekly stipend of $200. We require a resume, two (2) letters of recommendation and a letter of intent. Please send these materials to firstname.lastname@example.org to complete your application.
