DescriptionCEOs for Cities is a civic innovation lab and network for city progress and success, connecting cross-border, cross-sector, cross-generational civic CEOs and change makers to each other and to smart ideas and practices.
The CEOs for Cities Design Intern works primarily with the Communications Manager, but also with Lee Fisher, the President and CEO, and Mark Ebner the Manager of Research and Engagement, in the Cleveland office located at Cleveland State University's Levin College of Urban Affairs, 1717 Euclid Avenue (CEOs for Cities maintains three offices--in Chicago, Cleveland, and Washington DC).
The Intern is expected to work a minimum of 10 hours a week for a minimum of 4 months and/or a total of 120 hours. There is no salary or benefits, but the Intern will receive a stipend of $500 upon successful completion of the 4-month or after having worked 120 hours, which ever occurs first. Extension of the internship or full-time or part-time employment with CEOs for Cities after successful completion of the internship will be considered if the Intern is interested
The Intern provides organizational and creative support to the Communications Manager and other Cleveland staff in the Cleveland office. The Intern assists with technology and social media, speech writing, research, event planning, project management, website management, and visual presentations.

Responsibilities-Assisting the Communications Manager with graphic design and creative branding materials, including both digital and
-Assisting in development of CEOs for Cities website
-Assisting in not only production work, but also in the generation of ideas for future creative campaigns
Requirements-Experience and proficiency using Adobe Creative Suite--including Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign
-Strong grasp of basic design principles--as evidenced by work experience as a designer or portfolio pieces
-A creative entrepreneurial spirit
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills
-A strong, flexible team player with positive attitude, open to new ideas and change
-A willingness to assist all members of the team whenever necessary
-Strong work ethic that demonstrates willingness to work beyond usual hours whenever necessary
-A self-starter who initiates projects, makes suggestions, and generates new ideas
-Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail
-Ability to multi-task and prioritize pressing work effectively
-Experience and skill in social media preferred but not necessary
-Experience and skill in general communications, marketing, and copy-editing preferred but not necessary
