DescriptionPlus Positive is seeking a talented graphic designer to help develop and design and brand our forming non-profit. We are specifically looking for logos design, Wordpress web design (customizing a template), slideshow banners for web site, flyers, advertisements, photo shoot editing, newsletters, program brochures, direct mail, and t-shirt designs.
Plus Positive is a forming non-profit organization dedicated to positively impacting plus size men and women, so they can positively impact their communities. Our mission is to enhance the lives of plus sized men and women by providing opportunities to empower themselves while uplifting the community. We specifically providing educational resources for aspiring plus size models and those entering the Entertainment industry.
ResponsibilitiesDevelop and design branding, publications, and web graphics for client programs, special events and development.
Design t-shirts and printed promotional material
Provide ideas for better promoting the brand and building the organization
Support the Marketing department on assigned projects such as advertisements, editing existing materials, and photo manipulation.
RequirementsThe designer best suited for this position should have a strong knowledge of graphic design principles concerning typography and layout. The designer should be able to work quickly, maintain consistency, and pay close attention to details.
Must have Proficient knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator.
Good oral and written communication abilities and a desire to work with a variety of people.
Ability to take initiative and a proactive approach to daily tasks.
The internship starts in June 2013 and can last as long as you can successfully deliver
The Intern schedule is entirely up to you, just be sure to deliver in a timely fashion
This position starts unpaid but can change as the organization grows. Academic credit will depend on individual curricula. Work completed may be retained for your portfolio.
