Town Planning & Urban Design Collaborative
236 Pearl St
DescriptionTown Planning & Urban Design Collaborative (TPUDC) has an apprenticeship/internship program that is entering its fourth year. The program provides an intensive and immersive hands-on experience for students studying graphic design. TPUDC is a small, boutique firm. This gives interns the opportunity to work side by side with the principals and directors on a daily basis. TPUDC principals and directors are intentional about helping interns learn. Interns will become part of the TPUDC team, working on current projects, and observing meetings. Interns are typically able to attend at least one design charrette, assist principals in preparation of planning documents, and receive hands-on instruction in illustrative planning and design. This internship provides students and recent grads with a real sense for the planning business and introduces an innovative business model that reflects an emerging knowledge-based economy. Our interns thus far have all received full-time paid jobs immediately following our program. TPUDC founder and principal, Brian Wright, is passionate about arming people for their future, teaching them, and helping them find the right job that is the right fit. Interns will gain charrette experience and have the opportunity to make a real contribution to the project during the charrette. TPUDC can provide housing in some locations. TPUDC will be flexible with the intern's schedule, allowing time for job interviews and resume writing.
