DescriptionESTATE Ultra Bar is looking for enthusiastic individuals to learn about the hospitality industry in a fast-paced, exciting environment! This is a great opportunity for a motivated individual to gain experience in the Hospitality Industry with Operations, Human Resources, Marketing and Event Planning. Internships at ESTATE are unpaid but can lead to part time & full time position(s).
About the Venue: We are a bar/restaurant open 7 days a week for weekend dinner and late night dining. Weekend nights are busy and have a lounge atmosphere. In Summer 2012, we opened Chicago's largest open air rooftop restaurant and lounge -The StarDeck.

Internship Requirements: Reliable, punctual, outgoing, deadline-driven, detail-oriented and organized Proficient with Google Docs and/or Microsoft Office (Photoshop is a plus) Excellent oral and written communication skills are a must Active in Social Group preferred (Greek System, Recreation Club, etc) Must be 21+, have reliable transportation & a laptop.
About the Program
ESTATE'S Interns will get hands on experience in operating a high volume restaurant/bar hybrid that offers customers a
'social dining + drinking' experience in a unique venue. By the end of the program, the students will have learned from the Managing Partners and Managers on how to execute the day-to-day & weekly tasks that are required for daily operations. By successfully executing these tasks, the intern will help ESTATE reach its monthly and quarterly sales goals.
All interns will gain valuable experience with the following.
*Point of Sales System (Micros), Google Docs, Online Reservations (Open Table), Audio/Visual System (Pioneer, Crowne Point, others), Paycor Payroll Processing
*Customer Service - interns will learn the importance of on-site customer service, including repeat customers, as well as managing feedback
*Organizing & Running Meetings - attend weekly manager meetings, at least 2 preshift meetings including a weekend or private event preshift, community meetings (1 per term) and monthly PR meeting (marketing intern only)

ResponsibilitiesThe Graphic Design/Marketing Interns will work directly with the Creative Director & Event Director about marketing, events/promotions, media and public relations.
*Graphic Design - participate in meetings with our Graphic Designer on artwork content and layout. Help create online and print ads, eventually taking ownership of projects based on experiences and quality of work.
*Web & Print Media - will learn intricacies of Print Media vs Web Media. Observe ordering process, pricing and place orders with our printing companies, web advertising (Google Adsense, SEO, Facebook Ads). Distribute new ads internally and externally.
*Marketing Plan - help create, develop and execute marketing plan including pushing private/corporate & sporting events and in-house promotions & specials.
*Advertising - proofread ad copy, learn content of our ‘boilerplate’ (i.e. - standard copy and logo info we place on all ads) and eventually write copy. Communicate with vendors for ad budgets & purchases. Help manage our Social Media: Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.
*Public Relations - review Press Releases, monitor articles published about ESTATE and manage both positive and negative feedback both online & onsite.
