What Have I Learned
DescriptionThe Gate 510 is an 18 acre building 5 minutes from Oakland International Airport and 5 minutes from BART in San Leandro. Revamp includes demolition of a center section to make way for a 10,000 square foot Roman Square and acres of free space for artists and community activities. Traditional makers and emerging technology start-ups find much-needed amenities including Fiber Optic cable throughout at the most affordable pricing for space in all of Silicon Valley.
We're looking for a motivated intern who is excited about the prospect of working with some of best and brightest in the artist, maker, and tech communities. We need someone who is creative and capable of using their graphic design skills to promote and present these people to the public.

Internships are given to full semester applicants who are able to work both on-site and virtually. Consistent and dependable commitment of 10 hours per week is required. At close of internship, we offer recommendation letters, linked-in recommendations, and assistance with writing final cover letters and a resume to assist gradated interns in finding jobs.
For engaged, motivated interns, we are also happy to offer help with new business ideas and creating business plans as well as introducing you to industry contacts directly related to your chosen career path. Our goal is to offer as much value to our interns as they offer to us.
ResponsibilitiesA winning candidate will be expected to:
-Connect by phone and/or in person with a can-do attitude, ready to make great things happen by taking action with practical next steps.
-Complete work hours virtually and on-site if possible
-Graphic design work to support and market artists, makers, and tech start ups
There is a possibility that for the right person, this internship could turn into a paid position.
Requirements*Preference will be given to people who can come to the office, however, virtual positions are available for someone who can commit to being on Skype consistently during their scheduled virtual "office hours."
-Must be hard working, reliable, consistent, and willing and ready to learn!
