DescriptionThe Providence Community(Providence) is a nonprofit, volunteer-driven organization currently in start-up phase. The organization is an innovative experience that integrates service, learning, and living. The organization aims to shape the character and vocational discernment of high-potential university’s students through an intense experience of servant leadership linked with life in an intentional community. The agency mission is to empower young Liberian women and others in need to attain economic self-sufficiency through our advocacy, collaboration and targeted services focused on education, job training and employment to achieve measurable outcomes and improve the lives of young Liberians. The goal is to build a corps of next generation leaders by blending the “service-learning” model and living in intentional community alongside mentoring and career exploration to create solutions to poverty in Liberia and fill the employment gap.
We are currently in search of a Talented Infographic Design and web interns to create graphics and collateral pieces as well as developing the agency's website and contributing to the online marketing efforts through social media and email campaigns. The ideal candidate must be able to develop and continue to build Infographic design materials for our work. Details about the project including visual samples will be provided to the selected candidate
ResponsibilitiesHelp deliver cutting edge design visuals for sales and marketing materials for use in print, online, packaging, and collateral
Develop savvy graphic elements for company communications
Work on multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously with changing priorities
Research projects as directed and be able to present a summary and an opinion of the findings
Take direction well, juggle projects with changing priorities, and be a self starter
Be a team player with a positive attitude willing to contribute to task success
Comply with company policies, processes, and style guides; exhibit attention to detail
Report to the Graphic Designer and Director of Marketing as assigned
RequirementsWe are looking for:
o Graphic design majors, and students working towards a Masters in Graphic design. If you have no direct graphic design background, you must have comparable experience that makes you beneficial to the program.
o Detail-orientated leaders; you must have the ability to lead in the development & implementation of proficient and creative graphic design plans to help best present JAM within the industry including, invitations, broachers, ads, T-shirts, marketing materials, indoor and outdoor signage, banners, etc.
o Graphic researchers and designers with design and layout skills. You must possess the skill set to develop graphic design plans that are geared towards marketing events to the general public, sponsors, and various age groups.
o Knowledgeable graphic designers. You must have proficiency with the use of desktop publishing software such as Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
o We are interested in individuals who are not afraid to be aggressive, astute and ready to negotiate with potential sponsors
