Description

We are currently seeking a graphic design intern to work on various print and web projects. Please only apply to this posting if you are currently living in the Chicago or Chicagoland area and available year-round.

Responsibilities

-Create promotional and other marketing/sales-focused graphics using techniques such as photography, illustration and/or computer-generated imagery
-Ensure excitement, impact and accuracy in all marketing design efforts
-Review copy, design and look and feel of assets with Creative Director or Art Director
-Assist with redesigns or upgrades to existing web sites and/or the creation of new web sites
-Identify communication problems and develop visual solutions
-Help prepare final layout by reviewing copy and making edits including color correction
-Managing multiple concurrent design tracks
-Maintain asset libraries for reusable, systematic design

Requirements

-Proficiency and access to a computer and graphic design software
-Design and editing experience with Adobe Creative Suite or similar software (strong knowledge and skills in Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator a major plus)
-Skilled in both elaborate and minimalist design (knowledge and skill in typography a plus)
-Flexible schedule
-Meticulous and detail oriented
-Strong verbal and written communication skills
-Strong organizational, planning and execution skills
-Energetic, creative, and eager to learn
-Ability to multitask and self-motivated; ability to work independently and as part of a team
