DescriptionToday, Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Chicago is one of the largest private, non-profit social service agencies in the Midwest, annually assisting more than one million people, without regard to religious, ethnic or economic background. We offer 150 programs at 164 locations across Cook and Lake counties. Our programs are organized into five service areas which cover human needs from “cradle to grave” and every point in between. And, 92 cents of every dollar we raise goes directly to our programs.
Catholic Charities Community Development and Outreach Services is looking for a graphic design intern to be on the team currently constructing community assessment reports. These are some of the most underserved areas in Chicago we will be targeting and gathering data on residents in the area focusing on areas like age, race, income, and government benefits issued. Also what businesses, churches, community organizations and city services are in each area. Once a comprehensive data set is gathered, it will be send to the graphic design intern to build a alluring report.
The goal of the reports is to increase productivity of already existing Catholic Charities programs in the area and possibly create new ones depending on the need in each targeted area.
ResponsibilitiesThe graphic designer will have their own desk and work space. Will get credentials to access already existing agency data banks and resources. Schedule is flexible and will be worked out with supervisor. Have Adobe Creative Suite CS6 at a desktop here if necessary.
