DescriptionQuiet Events is currently seeking a NYC based Graphic Designer / Graphics Artist Intern with excellent design capabilities and solid skills in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. If you're a graphic designer or graphic artist student looking to work in a company developing creative assets for apps, web and printed media, come to work at Quiet Events, and have a flexible schedule. The intern will work closely with our marketing department to provide rich content and visually pleasing that remains constant with the brand image.
The position is for NYC, however the content will be utilized for both our NY and San Francisco offices.
About the Company
Quiet Events® was founded in August 2012 and is NYC’s first Quiet Clubbing Company. With over 4,000 headphones, Quiet Events hosts small to massive parties in which everyone wears headphones and can tune into 3 different DJs. In addition to the nightlight events, we also host local tours for native new Yorkers and tourists. Lastly, we offer a rental service so that anyone across the US has the ability to put on their own Quiet Clubbing party.
Today the company consists of seven team members and 9 event consultants. Two Events Directors that are responsible for day to day activities for our weekly events in NYC and SF. Two sales members who reach out to businesses and take sales and support calls, One inventory person who manages the headphones, and one special events director who focuses on creative and fun larger events and the CEO who manages the company actives and assists with direction and innovate ideas.
Our headquarters is a home office based in Astoria (1 block from the N train). This allows us to reduce overhead for storage, be dynamic to requests, and be flexible with working hours for our team members. You’ll be provided with all the equipment and software that you need to get the job done either from the office or remotely.
In addition to getting a vast amount of of experience across all avenues of design/marketing you’ll be able to learn how small businesses operate and grow. You will also have the flexibility to be creative as we are a company that likes to just try things and have fun.
Some creative events you’ll assist with in addition to our Quiet Clubbing Parties & tours are: Quiet Comedy, two live comedians going to head to head while the audience can choose which to listen to. Quiet Plays, you watch a play but hear what they are thinking to themselves.
Responsibilities• Designs and produces graphics elements for iOS and Android based mobile device apps, as well as HTML5 and other web-based applications
• Create club style flyers for our weekly events
• Creation of signage, circulars, ebook, mock ups, e-mail campaigns, on line promotion, social media, etc. for our rental, party, and tourist events.
• Assist in assets for our new re-designed website to be released in the spring of 2015
• Building standard templates for team members
• Proactively contributes suggestions and ideas for design projects that will add value to the company.
• Participates and collaborates in user interface design and contributes creative ideas and solutions to app development.
• Participates and contributes in product and marketing staff meetings regarding strategies and support activity.
• Touching up and Branding of event photos
RequirementsCompany is looking for an undergraduate student in the New York area who is majoring graphic design that is looking to earn school credit or simply experience. This person should have excellent verbal and written communication skills, with extensive knowledge of Web & Print. Adobe Photoshop & Design experience is required.
We are flexible with hours both day, night and weekends for the right intern. This position can be at our office or work from home. We however would require that we do meet once every week to go over face to face with the team.
