The Graphic & Web Design intern will work on all graphic and web design related materials for the Queens Historical Society. The intern will be able to bring their technical skill sets and improve them daily. While working closely with the administrative staff, the intern will have the opportunity to learn additional aspects of a museum. This is an unpaid internship, with option to receive college credit. This internship will help the student to gain excellent first-hand experience with a desirable resume-building assignment in a museum setting.
Duration: 3 months. Hours are flexible with intern's schedule


-Re-designing, concept, creation, development, and design of web pages and email.
-Designing materials for social media profiles.
-Designing materials for promotional media.
-Other graphic related materials.
-Online marketing initiatives


-May be enrolled in accredited graphic design or web program, working towards Bachelor or Masters degree
-Attention to detail and ability to follow directions
-Willingness to work affectively, resourcefully, independently as well as a team player
-Knowledge in adobe photoshop, basic HTML, and webpage design
-Background or interest in non-profit is a plus
-Technical and creative education
-Must have good verbal and written communication skills
-Knowledge of Dreamweaver, Illustrator is a plus
-Knowledge of social media; Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, blogs, etc.


Required - Graphic Design, Web Design, Adobe Photoshop, Basic HTML
Preferred - Technical Ability
