DescriptionWonderfully Made Health & Fitness Solutions, a health and physical activity, after school program for children and adolescents. Our goal for students participating in the Wonderfully Made Health & Fitness Program is that they will begin to appreciate their health, love to be physically active, make good food choices, and carry this healthy lifestyle into adulthood.
-Program Located at Fair Oaks Recreation Center in Marietta, GA
-Training will be provided
-Will provide weekly gas stipend
-Internship hours are Monday-Friday from 4:30pm-6:30pm, with an extra hour for director meeting, must be able to commit to at least 2-3 days per week.
-Additional hours can be accumulated assisting with research. Hours are not completed at internship site. Hours are completed remotely. Research assignments are emailed in. Hours will be logged.
ResponsibilitiesTake students in after school program through their daily session of physical activity, health and nutrition education. Training will be provided on how the session should flow. Session will last for approximately one hour. You will need time for set up and take down. You will also be given the opportunity to practice exercise prescription, fitness assessments, and presentation skills, among others. There will also be an opportunity to gain extra hours assisting in research. Research hours do not have to be accumulated from internship site. Hours will be logged and research assignments can be emailed.
RequirementsMust be a current graduate student looking for internship hours to complete degree requirements
Post graduates may also apply
Field of study must be exercise science, exercise physiology, fitness & health promotions, or similar
Must know how to take Blood pressure, heart rate, and fitness measurements
Must have B.S. degree in health field
Must know how to conduct proper fitness assessment, proper exercise protocol for children
Must have reliable transportation
Must work well with children
Must be CPR Certified
