DescriptionDallas Underground Strength & Fitness in Plano, TX is seeking interns for our adult fitness and athletic performance programs. All training sessions will take place within remodeled training facility, and a 90 day commitment is required. Dallas Underground Strength & Fitness will begin reviewing candidates immediately. Number of positions available will be limited per semester.
ResponsibilitiesInterns at DUSF will be expected to observe and actively participate in both large and small group sessions.
Provides individual and group exercise instruction; educates participants on proper techniques to maximize exercise safety and effectiveness.
Interns will be expected to participate in daily cleaning and facility maintenance.
Interns may be involved in various marketing and business campaigns throughout the duration of their internship.
Interns will be expected to understand and verbally explain the various fitness programs within the facility, and may be expected to design portions of a program session.
Interns will be expected to coach large and small group exercise sessions in a professional and confident manner.
Interns may assist in conducting fitness testing and assessments and advising participants of results.
Intern may help design individual programs to meet the member’s interests, abilities and goals.
Other responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Explaining "why" clients/athletes perform certain movements/activities
- Demonstrating all movements/drills/activities with proper technique
- Implementing variations and modifications for all movements/activities
- Complete all coursework assigned to them.
RequirementsThe student/intern must have an interest in training adults and/or athletes, and will be expected to pass a background check before interacting with youth athletes.
Education/coursework within related health & fitness fields (Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology, Sport/Fitness Management, Recreation, ect) preferred but not required.
Prior experience and/or fitness certification preferred but not required.
Experience with basic exercise movements and technique preferred.

- Ability to efficiently manage own time
- Ability to demonstrate attention to detail
