DescriptionCLARE Foundation is a nonprofit organization providing effective and compassionate treatment, recovery, and prevention services for alcoholism and substance abuse to individuals, families, and the community.
As a well-respected leader in substance abuse rehabilitation, CLARE is one of the most successful treatment facilities in Los Angeles County. With over 40 years of providing compassionate and affordable residential and outpatient treatment for men and women, our social model approach produces positive results using the most current research and evidence-based practices.
Understanding different clients have different needs, CLARE is well equipped to handle the toughest addiction problems. Our newly renovated and fully furnished facilities offer a safe and supportive living environment where our residential clients participate in meal preparation and community activities as a way to rebuild their independence and responsibility. Mental and physical assessment, one-on-one and group counseling support, Drug Court and DUI programs, and social service referrals are also available for our outpatient clients.

ResponsibilitiesMFT Internship (Un-paid)
CLARE Foundation is actively seeking registered MFT interns. In consultation with fellow interns and staff members, interns will utilize a variety of theoretical orientations (including CBT and family systems) to facilitate individual therapy and psycho-educational group sessions to men and women with substance abuse and mental health problems. Comprehensive treatment at CLARE addresses all issues affected by addiction including the physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual well-being of the individual and family. CLARE utilizes an integrated multi-disciplinary approach, applying evidence-based practices and values the 12-Step principles: the need for a community; the responsibility of the individual; peer support; and willingness to change. Responsibilities include evaluating the needs of clients and developing treatment plans. Treatment plans are designed with the individual in mind, and focus on their strengths, needs, and aspirations. The therapist maintains accurate detailed observation and progress records, adhering to laws regarding confidentiality and reporting requirements. Areas of training include: Case Presentation & Case Conceptualization, Co-Occurring Disorders, Crisis Management, Diagnostic Criteria, Discharge/Aftercare, Outpatient Services, Residential Services, Substance Abuse and Treatment, Trauma/PTSD.
