DescriptionPeru Child Health is a non-profit based in San Francisco and Peru dedicated to improving the health and wellness of Peruvian children. Peru Child Health was founded and is run by a UCSF faculty member. The intern will have the opportunity to work directly with the Founder/President on projects with major impact on the lives of children. The position offers a flexible schedule of 10-30 hours weekly, depending on the intern's availability, with 1-3 hours weekly working directly with the Founder/President.
ResponsibilitiesThe intern will meet 1-3 hours weekly directly with the Founder/President for supervision, planning, and work review. The intern will be involved in important administrative, research, and development work. All of the responsibilities of the internship are significant and will provide a rare and excellent opportunity for the right person. Some of the work will include development of new projects, implementation and evaluation of existing projects, and working closely with Peruvian physicians and Health Departments.
RequirementsGlobal Health experience and/or education. Prefer graduate level but open to undergrads with good global health experience. Must be an articulate writer and speaker in both English and Spanish. Duel fluency is crucial for the position. Seeking a highly organized intern who is able to work independently and as a team player. Must be self-motivated and driven and able to complete tasks without constant supervision. Must be able to engage with a positive attitude at all times. This is an important position that requires a conscientious and hard-working person. Cross-cultural experience in South America, especially Peru, is a plus.
