We're a 2-year-old Houston based, health consulting company about to launch an awesome new online caregiving platform. We're offering a all year round, internship opportunity for health care social media, health research, PR, marketing, journalism/English major students. Check out our Facebook page for more info. is looking for energetic, friendly, communicative, and highly motivated virtual interns for 2014 and beyond. Prefer someone local to Houston, TX , though telecommuting is acceptable for promising applicants. This internship is unpaid. However, you may use this work in your portfolio, and will receive glowing letters of recommendation. The internship CAN BE completely virtual FOR serious candidates only, You must be able to meet weekly deadlines and stay in communication with the Cofounders and Managers of the Company via emails, Skype, conference calls. Intern will assist the company in projects related to health, marketing, social media, communications, writing, researching health trends, and client management. The great thing about this internship is that you will be doing real work. You will be interacting directly with everyone from the founders.

Specific job tasks might include:
Basic health care research and writing up summaries,
Able to provide appropriate responses to online articles, inquiries,
Helping manage our social network pages
Helping our clients use the platform more effectively
Communicating with clients via phone/email/twitter/etc
Evaluating new websites/technologies
Writing content, drafts for review
Drafting, researching, reading articles for placement in the editorial calendar

You must be inquisitive. You should be extremely resourceful and ready to learn.
Must be a registered college student (undergraduate or graduate level) and receiving academic college credits.
Related Majors preferred - Marketing, Journalism, English/Communications.
This is an unpaid internship (college credit is ok)
This internship will start as soon as you can this fall (i.e. Aug/Sept) and go until sometime in December and will continue on a rolling basis.
If you are awesome, there is a very good chance this can lead to a part time or full time job (we've ended up hiring most of our interns)
Position requires at least 10 - 16 hours per week (or more if you can swing it - the more involved you are, the better for everyone!).

Skills Required: Depending on Social Media, Communication/English/ Marketing Intern

Familiarity with social media organizing platforms (e.g. Hootsuite) a plus
Intern must have a working knowledge of Google docs, Skype, G-chat, and standard social networking platforms for meetings, interactions
Must be deadline oriented, detailed, take direction well and be thorough MUST be a self-starter who combines a high level of creativity/initiative with strong organizational skills
Attention to detail
Internet and social media savvy
Willingness to learn & must own a lap top
Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and/orPrezi and advanced internet skills
Should have interest or experience in online marketing, research,
Effective problem solver who can work with minimal supervision
Strong written and oral communication skills
Ability to work in a team environment, independently, handle multiple tasks, and complete tasks quickly and effectively
Experience with HTML is a plus
Must be familiar with Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest and Google+.
Must be familiar with social bookmarking sites.
Must be familiar with MailChimp and/or other newsletter templates.
Must have own computer and workspace.
As a representative of, you must have a demonstrated ability to carry on social media conversations in a professional manner. You must also be friendly, sociable, and genuine.
Must have a demonstrated ability to meet deadlines.
Must have a demonstrated ability to work independently.

Some experience working in social media, and/or in an editorial position.
