Description

NephCure Foundation has recently launched the NephCure Kidney Network Patient Registry to support our mission of advancing research on idiopathic Nephrotic Syndrome. NephCure Foundation gives highly qualified undergraduate, graduate students and recent graduate degree recipients the opportunity to participate in this vital Patient Registry Project. Three- Four month terms are available.

We are looking to add an intern to the NephCure team to further enhance the services we provide to our patients, their families, health professionals and a broad range of constituents. This critical position requires creative thinking, a solutions-oriented mindset and multi-tasking proficiency.

Essential Functions:
1. Responsible for assisting coordinators in carrying out fundamental functions of NephCure Kidney Network Patient Registry
2. Assist in patient outreach in order to populate the Registry
3. Provide help to patients updating their records on the Registry
4. Assist in marketing NephCure research opportunities
5. Provide critical help in updating and curating constituents’ records in the Raisers Edge Database
6. Be a responsive resource to patients and families dealing with Nephrotic Syndrome.

Requirements

Requirements:
US Citizen or US permanent resident (Alien Registration number is required for US permanent residents).
Currently enrolled in, or a recent graduate of, undergraduate/graduate school. If a recent graduate, graduate degree must have been awarded no more than two years prior to application deadline. Pre-Med students will be preferred.
Undergraduate GPA of 2.75 (minimum) for applicants who have not yet received a Master's degree.
The applicants must have a science or communications background, as well as experience and/or education in any of the following areas: pre-med, public health, nursing, health education, science writing, biostatistics, psychology or communications.
Strong computer knowledge, including MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Excellent writing, verbal communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
Must be able to meet deadlines, work independently and as part of a team, and act in a professional and positive manner when dealing with the public.
A working knowledge of the non-profit and philanthropic industry is a plus.
An understanding of renal biology and kidney diseases is a big plus.
