1DOCWAY is a fast-growing national provider of telemedicine services (telepsychiatry). This internship will draw on students' prior coursework and experience in healthcare practice management and administration and afford an opportunity for professional development in a fast-paced clinical practice environment.

Interns report to the Practice Manager and work closely with her and the President of Health Services on day-to-day operations and special projects. Our Practice Management and staff have first line responsibility for the practice's administrative operations and patient happiness. All aspects of health care practice management and administration are addressed, with the added bonus of being in a telemedicine environment to provide exposure to what health care will look like in the future.

Responsibilities

Internship in Telehealth Practice Management

This is an unpaid internship working with the practice management, quality improvement and clinical service areas of 1DOCWAY - a fast growing and successful Telepsychiatry service organization.

While the internship is an unpaid opportunity at the outset, it will provide the successful applicant with a broad and deep understanding of a highly successful Telehealth business model and the procedural and technology infrastructure of telehealth service delivery. Eventual employment and career advancement within the company is a distinct possibility for the motivated and qualified intern.

You will work closely with our President of Health Services (PHS) to develop and refine logistics and workflows, monitor and manage physician performance, research important industry and business questions and increase the company’s footprint regionally and nationally. At the outset, the intern will shadow and support the activities of the PHS. As is warranted, the intern will assume increasing responsibility and autonomy in performance of these activities, with proper oversight and supervision.

Areas of activity will include:

• Physician licensing and credentialing
• Oversight and monitoring of intake, billing and documentation processes
• Quality monitoring and improvement
• Patient and client satisfaction sampling
• Customer outreach and orientation
• Service coding and preparation of information for billing department
• Troubleshooting problems for physicians, clinics and patients
• Serving as communication liaison among our providers, referring clinics, credentialing and billing departments \
and health plans
• Other activities as directed by supervisor

Requirements

Certificate or degree students are encouraged to apply.

Please be at or near completion of your academic program - this internship is intended as a transitional step from school to the work environment.

Maturity, poise, attention to detail. strong organizational and communication skills and a customer service ethic are crucial.

You will work from home for this internship and will interact with your coworkers by means of phone, email, I/M and videoconferencing. Must be a self-motivated person, able to work efficiently without direct supervision.

Following from the above, must have a reliable computer (PC,MAC or laptop), landline phone service, and internet access of at least 1Mbps uploading and downloading.
