DescriptionHillsman Center provides comprehensive substance abuse treatment, rehabilitation and re-socialization services in the residential treatment settings. We have some internship positions for Talented / Passionate candidates. We are located near Downtown of Los Angeles.
Under general supervision the Intern duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Assist in the documenting observations and insights, ensuring safety of facility, the patients and other visitors
• Assist with maintaining awareness and monitoring of each patient's condition
• Assist with Performs client intake and discharge procedures.
• Assist with Screening, Orientation, Assessment, and Treatment Planning,
• Assist with Referral, Report & Record Keeping
• Assist with Case Management, Crisis Intervention, Client education
Hillsman Center is looking for a candidate in the Los Angeles area who is currently (or planning to be) enrolled in AOD (Alcohol and Other Drugs) education program, or a related field.
Preferred applicants would be working towards Substance Abuse Certification.
This person should have familiarity with all aspects of chemical dependency, assessment, treatment planning, and especially monitoring and maintaining the treatment, have excellent verbal and written communication skills, general inter-personal skills, and a working knowledge of MSWord and Excel.
Be enrolled in an accredited academic institution or a recent graduate (within two years) of an accredited academic institution. Veterans who are unable to apply within two years of receiving their degree due to a military service obligation have as much as six years after degree completion to apply.
Minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
U.S. citizen or a permanent resident (I-151 or I-551). Individuals on temporary visas are not eligible.
Special Requirement: Applicants with a personal history of alcohol and drug abuse must present evidence of their successful recovery.
