Descriptionrespiratory therapist (RRT or CRT) internship Head Office of Home Care Services located in Metuchen, N.J. Approximately 40 hrs a week starting immediately. This position can lead to full time employment with the company.
Responsibilities- Provide customer service in hospital, helping family members, visitors, and caregivers
- Understand relationships among healthcare personnel, preferably in clinic setting
- Offer research skills on multiple healthcare issues, resulting in presentation or publication
••Assess patients needs related to respiratory care process and develops care plans designed to improve patient morbidity and outcome.
•Provide charge duties when supervisor not present.
•Responsible for the delivery of:
•a. Aerosol Therapy
•b. Oxygen Therapy
•c. Mechanical ventilation /CPAP/BIPAP
•d. Pulse oximetry
•e. Obtaining arterial specimens for the purpose of arterial blood gas analysis
•Patient/Family Education" Performs patient and family education and training associated with MDI aerosol therapy, oxygen therapy and BIPAP/CPAP
•Active participation in all in-service training programs, encourage but not required , to maintain a current Missouri license as a respiratory care practitioner.
•Active in the education of students, other medical center staff, and peers
•Promotes professional responsibilities related to ethical and legal issues of respiratory care.
Requirements- Prefer student with experience in healthcare delivery system
- Perform well in environment that values compassion, helpfulness, patience, and resourcefulness
•Dependability and ability to work with a flexible schedule
•Current TB/PPD/Chest X-Ray
•Ability to remain flexible, resilient and calm
