Queens Village, NY
DescriptionThe Army Cadets of New York (ACNY) is a non-political youth development organization dedicated to serving America's young men and women, ages 12-28. The primary purpose of the ACNY is to instill traditional American values in youth, while combating juvenile delinquency, apathy and substance abuse. This is accomplished through the promotion of the military arts and sciences; character and physical development; and education in, and allegiance to, the Constitution of the United States.
The ACNY administers distinct military-oriented courses of instruction. Our course curriculum closely parallels the training and discipline of the military branch for which it is named, (U S Army). The Army Brigade is the fastest growing of the brigades. The Army Cadets of New York provide an introduction to the history, customs and courtesies of the United States Army. The Army Cadet curriculum closely parallels that of the Army Junior ROTC, augmented by exciting and challenging hands-on activities.
It is recommended not missing a drill before the ending of Recruit Orientation. If you miss a drill, after graduation from Recruit Orientation, you may maintain your drill attendance percentage by participating in a Make-up Drill. A Make-up drill may be credited by working no less than Four hours at an Armed Forces Recruiting Station, or participating in an optional activity. You must complete 16 hours to make-up for a missed drill.
