DescriptionShanty Creek Resorts is located 30 minutes northeast of Traverse City, features three distinct villages, four championship golf courses and 55 ski runs on two mountains within its 4,500 acres. The four-season destination features 450 rooms, a spa and fitness center, a wide variety of dining and entertainment options and 36,000 square feet of event and meeting space. As an intern you will not only be able to enjoy this beautiful area, but also learn about Resort Management in the process.
ResponsibilitiesMaintain clean guest rooms, hallways, closets, vans and overall storage areas of housekeeping supplies. Responsible for the cleanliness and proper function of resort guest rooms, and staff. Provides effective support to the Housekeeping Manager in supervising staff, assisting the Director of Lodging with controlling labor and supply expenses, and assists with hiring, and training staff with Housekeeping Manager. Supervises, checks rooms and works along with room attendants as needed throughout the course of daily assignments, maintains a positive attitude and feeling among guests and employees.
Will also be responsible for attending Internship meetings and completion of Internship class project.
No professional experience required, training will be provided.
Enrollment in related college coursework required.
Must possess a valid driver’s license.
