DescriptionMSP/ SM Squared are worldwide meeting management companies located in San Diego. We manage meetings, conferences and events for corporations.
We are currently looking to add an entry level Meeting Planner to our team who will work directly with the operations team on all facets of corporate meeting planning from business development and site selection to on-site management and program reconciliation.
The ideal candidate for this position will possess the following skills/attributes:
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
• Ability to communicate assertively

Candidates must be interested in pursuing a career in the meeting planning industry as there may be opportunity for permanent employment with MSP based on performance.
This position is compensated at minimum wage and requires approximately 20 hours per week and a minimum of 380 flexible hours total to complete the program.

ResponsibilitiesDay to day tasks will include answering phones, updating client and databases, site selection, booking air travel, creating banquet event orders, building registration websites, creating invitations, sending confirmations and other correspondence to vendors and clients, business development, and more.
RequirementsIdeal candidate will be customer service focused, extremely detail oriented, and enjoy managing timelines and deadlines. Candidate should be comfortable working with checklists and completing tasks on time. Computer proficiency with the ability to work as a team as well as independently is critical to your success.
