DescriptionUrban Diversion is the Bay Area's premier activity, social and outdoor club. We are a "members-only" club that plans 30+ events per month for our members. Our events range from bonfires on the beach, private pirate ship sailing the bay with 100+ pirates, trampoline dodgeball or even a simple night out dancing. Some of our outdoor events that we do are a week long trip to Hetch Hetchy in Yosemite, a day spent rappelling at Pinnacles, a simple day hike to Mt. Tam and a few international trips a year. .
We are seeking an intern with experience like yours to fill one (or both) of these positions:
FULL TIME event intern/outdoor specialist- this position entails working at our office in the North Beach/SF as part of our events team and hosting events with an emphasis on outdoor events.
PART TIME Outdoor Events Specialist - this position is one day a week in the office and events hosting (mostly on the weekends).
Must be over 21 years of age and mature
Must have PROVEN experience in leading outdoor trips to groups
Extremely outgoing personality
Creative activity planner
Experience in event coordination or similar activities
Must QUICKLY become very familiar with the San Francisco Bay Area
Excellent oral and writing skills
MUST have drivers license and driving experience
Should be willing to try any type of event from sky diving to candle making
Focus on safety and people
Time management skills, ability to multi-task and switch tracks at a moments notice.
International applicants will need a visa sponsorship
RequirementsApplicants must have expansive outdoor & interpersonal skills- can you start a fire with just a match? Can you prepare a gourmet meal from the bare minimum on a group backpacking trip? Do you know how to keep pesky raccoons out of the campsite? Can you rappel down a waterfall? Do you know where Orion's Belt is and which way is north??
Applicants must have PROVEN group leadership skills.... leading boy scout camping trips, sorority trip organizer, etc....
