Description

Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens is the former home of early industrialist and Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company co-founder, F.A. Seiberling, and his wife, Gertrude. The 65 room Tudor Revival style mansion designed by Charles Schneider was built between 1912-1915 and today encompasses 70 acres of restored gardens originally created by noted landscape architect Warren Manning. After 40 years of occupancy, the Seiberling heirs helped create the non-profit foundation which has operated the museum since 1957. Stan Hywet is accredited by the American Association of Museums and is listed as a National Historic Landmark and an Official Project of Save America's Treasures. Tours are offered daily from 10am-4:30pm April through December.

The Tour Services Intern's main responsibilities are working alongside the Tour Division staff to research, develop, and implement tours and educational and enhancement programs. Tours include the Guided Manor Tour, Guided Garden Tour, Grand Estate Tour and the Nooks & Crannies Tour. They will also assist in recruiting and training staff and volunteers. All interpretive trainings of the Manor House and Grounds will be conducted at the discretion of the the Tour Services Manager.

-Firm understanding of general estate history, Stan Hywet’s mission and vision.
-Ability to articulate the vast range of tour services Stan Hywet has to offer.
-Ability to work independently and in collaboration with Tour Services team to enhance tours and educational programs.

Requirements

Background in Tourism Management, Hospitality, Marketing and/or Sales.
Computer savvy – EMS, KMWare, Microsoft Outlook & Office.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Previous museum experience a plus but not a requirement.
