A Global Voice for Autism
DescriptionA Global Voice for Autism is a non-profit, volunteer-run organization that empowers underserved communities around the world to care for their children with autism. Our approach includes Applied Behavior Analysis parent training programs, parent and sibling support groups and community education initiatives. We recently completed our pilot program in Jenin, Palestinian Territories and presented its results at the United Nations on World Autism Awareness Day, 2014.
We are looking for a community outreach and donor relations intern who will assist us with fundraising through crowd funding, individual donors and grant applications and who will help raise awareness of our organization in the United States and abroad. Interns can be located anywhere in the world and should be willing to contribute 5-10 hours/week to the internship position. Interns may also have the opportunity to attend conferences as representatives of A Global Voice for Autism if interested.
Responsibilities-Research and reach out to potential community donors
-Launch and promote crowd funding and fundraising campaigns
-Design new promotional strategies and pilot these strategies
-Send thank-yous and follow-up correspondence to donors
Requirements-Passionate about serving individuals with autism and their families
-English fluency is required (fluency/proficiency in a second language is an added bonus)
-Marketing or advertising experience preferred
-Previous fundraising experience preferred
-Understanding of or willing to learn Kickstarter, StartSomeGood, FundRazr, Indiegogo and other crowd funding platforms
-Outgoing personality, willing to reach out to community in person and via social media
