Unified Grocers (“Unified”) is the largest retailer-owned wholesale grocery cooperative in the western United States. Unified offers independent retailers all the resources they need to compete in today’s supermarket industry.

Position Details:
Unified is currently seeking an intern for our Employment team. The intern will gain hands on experience in in full-cycle recruiting, including candidate sourcing, screening, and interviewing, as well as researching recruiting trends, and administering on-boarding activities and applicant tracking system. The intern will also support data collection and reporting on requisition and candidate metrics. The intern will support day to day employment activities including associate, management and candidate inquiries, state/federal compliance efforts, associate file maintenance and HRIS processing. The intern will also support multiple Human Resources cross-functional projects such as College Intern Program, Diversity Outreach, and New Associate On-Boarding through research, data analysis, content development, communication, and training delivery.

The Intern will also support the development and deployment of a Social Media Recruiting Strategy and the design and roll-out of a new Recruiting System tool.

In addition to offering exposure to our HR department the position will also allow for business exposure activities.

This is a paid internship with the potential to start immediately and run through the summer months with possible extension. During the summer months it will be a full time position. Outside of the summer months a part time and flexible schedule may be available.

Requirements

Job Requirements:
Qualified students must have junior or senior status and be enrolled in an accredited four year University or College; must have a declared major in Business Administration with an emphasis in Human Resources Management; Intern must possess a GPA of 3.0 or above. Additional requirements include excellent written and verbal communication skills; Superb inter-personal skills with focused customer service; Ability to collaborate, and build business relationships cross-functionally and with all levels of associates; High energy, professional and polished presentation skills; High level of computer competency in Word, Excel, PPT. Ability to learn processes, and Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) quickly.
