LaGuardia Community College of the City University of New York is named for Fiorello H. LaGuardia, New York City’s New Deal mayor, who inspired a city of immigrants. LaGuardia Community College is seeking 1-2 Employment Specialist Volunteers for our Career Planning and Employment Services department.
Duties Include:
• Conduct and/or co-lead workshops on career development and job search preparation topics
• Review student resumes and conduct individual and group resume revision sessions
• Provide assistance in preparation for and during job fairs, on-campus recruitment events, and college-wide career events
• Conduct phone follow up with students regarding their current employment status
Hours are Monday to Thursday from 10:00 AM to 4:30 PM, but some flexibility is available.

Volunteer Intern will conduct workshops on resume writing and interview skills, evaluate resume and assist students in developing a resume and marketing themselves to employers. Provide assistance in on campus recruiting events, job fairs and college wide activities.


Requirements: BA and experience in leading groups, MA preferred. Good oral and written communication skills. Excellent judgment and sensitivity to the needs of the students.
